Born into a musically inclined family, Smt. Meena Subramaniam was initiated into Carnatic music by Sri. Ramakrishnan, and trained further by the Kannan brothers of Coimbatore. She advanced her concert-performing skills under the guidance of Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. M.L. Vasanthakumari, and served a full-term career in the All India Radio as an A-graded staff artiste.
